Executive Producer
Filmed over nine days in Chamonix, this production felt less like a commercial shoot and more like a Shackleton expedition with cameras.
Jason Herrington from Paydirt directed. The camera department was German. The lighting and grip crew were Italian. The service company and most of the support staff, including the stunt coordinators were French. Craft service included cigarettes and wine which were consumed throughout the shoot days.
We overnighted on the glacier. Meals were flown in by helicopter. Equipment moved through extreme conditions while the crew navigated altitude and weather, and oddly, there were no bathrooms. We were just camping in tents.
It was a temporary community that productions like this sometimes create. People from different countries, speaking different languages, solving the same problems together in an utterly surreal location.
A once-in-a-lifetime experience disguised as a shoot.
