The idea was that the Nissan Rogue could handle the beautiful disorder of life. Which, in advertising, is harder than it sounds. Because the instinct in commercials is to smooth everything out. Remove the clutter, the noise, the tension. Create a world where nobody spills coffee, nobody’s late, and every child in the back seat appears emotionally regulated.

We resisted that instinct.

We wanted to create a lifestyle people could see themselves inside of. Families rushing out the door. Overstuffed trunks. Muddy weekends. The low-grade chaos that defines most modern households. Instead of sanding down imperfections, we leaned into them.

And reaching people where they are required the development of an expansive campaign ecosystem: cinematic broadcast work for General, Hispanic, and Canadian audiences; shorter conceptual OLVs for streaming and YouTube; social for Meta and TikTok that didn’t feel like it was trying too hard; high-end feature videos for NissanUSA.com; bespoke in-market Hispanic content; radio; photography for digital and point-of-purchase. An entire constellation of assets orbiting the same central idea we called “Happy Chaos.”

A deliverables list this extensive is never the work of one person. Sammie Heston at Omnicom Production deserves enormous credit for helping hold the entire ecosystem together.

And maybe the most satisfying part was working alongside a team that understood audiences are extraordinarily good at detecting when something feels overly engineered. Together, we tried to make something just messy and chaotic enough to feel real.
